OIC Observes Day to End Violence Against Women

JEDDAH – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) joined the global community in marking the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, observed annually on November 25. This day serves as a poignant reminder of the continuing struggles faced by women and girls subjected to violence and exploitation worldwide, especially in conflict zones. The 2024 theme, "Invest to Prevent Violence against Women & Girls! #NoExcuse", calls for urgent action and funding to address and prevent violence, ensuring the protection of women and girls everywhere. OIC Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha reaffirmed the organization's commitment to combating violence against women and promoting gender empowerment across its member states.
